Privacy Policy

The short version

Robot Arcade is a static website. There is no login, no database and no server-side record of your visit beyond the ordinary request logs any web host keeps.

Your high scores, favourite games, recently played list and preferences are stored in your own browser using local storage. They never leave your device, are not linked to any identifier, and do not sync between your devices or browsers.

There is a button at the bottom of this page that removes all of it.

What is stored in your browser

Best scores and furthest progress for each game you play. Your list of favourite games. A short list of games you have recently opened. Your sound on or off preference, and whether you have dismissed the cookie notice.

All of this is stored under a 'ra:' prefix in your browser's local storage. It is readable only by this site, it is not transmitted anywhere, and it persists until you clear it or clear your browser data.

This is technically not a cookie - local storage is a different mechanism - but it is storage on your device and it is treated the same way here, because the distinction matters to lawyers rather than to people.

Server logs

The web host serving these pages keeps standard access logs, which typically record the IP address making a request, the page requested, the time, and the browser's user agent string. This is how web servers work and it happens whether or not a site wants it.

These logs are not used to build a profile of you, are not combined with anything else, and are not sold or shared. They exist to diagnose errors and to detect abuse.

Analytics

No third-party analytics script is loaded by this site. There is no Google Analytics, no tracking pixel, and no behavioural measurement of any kind.

If analytics are ever added, this page will name the provider and say what it collects before it is switched on.

Advertising

The site reserves space for advertising and is built to connect an advertising network such as Google AdSense. At the time this page was last updated, no ad network is connected and no advertising cookies are set by this site.

If and when one is connected, this section will be updated to name it. Advertising networks typically set cookies or use similar technologies to select and measure adverts, and where that applies you will be told what is set, by whom, and how to opt out - including through Google's Ads Settings and the industry opt-out pages, where those apply.

Nothing on this site describes an advertising relationship that does not currently exist as though it did.

The contact form

The contact form does not submit anything to a server. It validates what you have typed and then opens your own email application with the message prepared, which you send yourself.

That means nothing you type into it reaches anyone until you choose to send the email, and nothing is stored by this site at any point. If you do email, the message is held in the ordinary way email is held, and is used only to answer you.

Children

The site is suitable for a broad audience and contains no graphic content. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, of any age, because it does not collect personal information at all.

Your rights

Because no personal data is collected or stored on a server, there is nothing held about you to access, correct, export or delete. The data that does exist is on your own device and entirely under your control.

You can remove it at any time using the button below, through your browser's site-data controls, or by clearing your browsing data.

Changes to this policy

If what the site does changes - most likely by connecting an advertising network - this page will be updated to describe it, and the last updated date at the top will change accordingly.
