Everything is built here
No game on this site is embedded from elsewhere. Each one is written specifically for Robot Arcade, which is what makes it possible to describe its mechanics accurately - the page and the game have the same author.
The same is true of the artwork and the audio. Thumbnails are generated from geometric primitives at build time, and every sound is synthesised in your browser at runtime from oscillators and filtered noise. There are no licensed or third-party assets anywhere on the site.
Games are played before they are described
A game is not published until it can be completed or survived on a real phone and a real keyboard. The controls table, the difficulty rating and the recommended device on each game page are written after that testing rather than before it.
This is why the recommended device field differs between games. Some genuinely are better with a mouse, and saying so is more useful than claiming that everything works equally well everywhere.
How guides are written
Guides explain mechanics rather than walking through levels, because mechanical understanding transfers between games and route memorisation does not.
Numerical claims are read from the games' source code rather than estimated from play. Claims about what works are marked as judgements. Where a guide makes a general statement about arcade games beyond this site, it is written as a general observation rather than as a measured fact.
On AI assistance
AI tools are used in the production of this site, in the way a great many sites now use them. They are used for drafting, for restructuring explanations and for review.
What they are not used for is generating claims. Every factual statement about how a game behaves is checked against the game, and every game described here has been played. A guide is not published because a draft of it exists.
This is disclosed because readers are entitled to know how what they are reading was made, and because a site that quietly published unchecked generated text about games nobody had played would be exactly the kind of site this one is trying not to be.
Corrections
If a guide describes something a game does not do, that is an error and it is fixed. Corrections are prioritised above new content and above everything except a bug that stops a game working.
Where a correction changes the substance of a guide, its updated date changes and the change is reflected in the text rather than quietly overwritten.
The contact page is the way to report one.
Dates
Every guide and game page shows a published date. An updated date is shown only where the page has genuinely been revised since publication.
The build refuses to produce a page carrying a future date, or one claiming to have been updated before it was published. That is enforced in code rather than by good intentions, because dates are the easiest thing on a site to get quietly wrong.
Editorial independence
Nothing on this site is sponsored, and no game, product or service has been featured in exchange for payment.
Because every game here is made by the site, there is no question of favourable coverage in exchange for anything - but it does mean the site is writing about its own work, which is worth stating. Where a game has a weakness, its page says so.
What is never published
Invented statistics. Player counts, play counts, download figures and popularity rankings the site has no way to measure.
Fabricated user reviews, star ratings, testimonials and awards. The site has no review mechanism, so any rating displayed here would be made up.
Content copied from elsewhere, and any claim about a company, credential or partnership that a reader could not verify.
